Queer Aesthetics is an interdisciplinary,
free-access journal dedicated to the pursuit of equitable representation in the arts.

Working at the intersections of sexuality studies, ethnic studies, disability studies, pornography studies, visual culture studies, and the arts, QA facilitates dialogues between marginalized artists, academics and cultural producers to claim space, project futurity, and evaluate/dismantle the exclusionary patterns centered within our arts programs, education systems and institutions.

By queering the visual and structural format of the academic journal, QA delivers analytic content and contributes to a multifaceted dialogue centering learning styles which have been traditionally dismissed from academic publications (i.e. auditory, spatial, kinesthetic, interpersonal and intrapersonal).

Considering a combination of academic articles and creative works as equitable contributions towards new knowledge production, QA publishes a variety of media and creative content, utilizing interdisciplinary frameworks to sustain critique and exploration within these fields.
